The Country Music Hall Of Fame

Our Hero in The Country Music Hall Of Fame

The first week of January was especially memorable as Our Hero got to visit the Country Music Hall Of Fame while on a very brief visit to Nashville.

The purpose was to see their Western Edge exhibit which featured the Long Ryders amongst a dozen or so other acts who are credited with bringing the country-rock sound to prominence in Los Angeles and later on to the world at large.

This means the Long Ryders circa 1982-1987 are featured in a huge exhibit in country music’s gargantuan Hall Of Fame next to other luminaries of the era such as Chris Hillman’s Desert Rose Band, Dwight Yoakam, Lucinda Williams, Rank & File, Los Lobos, Emmylou Harris, Rosie Flores, Jim Lauderdale, and so on.

Sid had two original 1980s’ lyric sheets on display, one for Looking For Lewis & Clark and the other for Gunslinger Man.

There was even an interactive panel where you could trace the Long Ryders’ history, see photos of the band in action, and hear a selection of Long Ryders material.

.

This marvellous exhibit will be open for some time so please, if you are anywhere near central Tennessee you gotta go see it!
